Layout One

This was the first layout I had built in at least 35 years! I'd always wanted to get back into the hobby but real life got in the way.

Cut to 2020 and I'm ready to start again.

I thought I'd make a small and simple British N Gauge layout and settled on a basic trackplan with DC electrics.

Buildings are a mix of Kestrel plastic kits and Metcalf card kits.

One thing I knew I wanted was remote point control and the option of remote uncoupling.

I used Seep point motors and Dapol magnetic couplers.

Everything worked well, but I realised I much prefer building small N Gauge layouts than running them.

One eBay sale later and I was ready to start in layout number 2.
